I think his buddy, Mike, took his advice. Seems he’s given all his money away.
...betting against sub-prime mortgage securities
How does one do that ... exactly?
Its really too bad some people don’t die an early death.
You don’t need perfect English to become rich.
Did he pay off the contractor liens yet?
If you REALLY want the scoop, read Greg Zuckerman’s book about John Paulson.
The Greatest Trade Ever
It’s an excellent read.
(basically they took a contrarian position that sub-prime mortgages were not being written with adequate standards of fiduciary responsiblity and made bets with financial institutions that this was going to blow up. It talks about 20 yr old guys who were working in a car wash one week and the next week making 10 grand a month as a mortgage broker)
um, excuse me, the word is ‘fewer’ if you don’t mind. And go ahead, rich buddy, and start with yourself.
I would be willing to bet he had some inside help, probably in the form of some of our favorite politicians or their handlers.....
Those who complain about “inequality” never mention how much Oprah or Mick Jagger earn or how little their stage help is paid. Nor do they complain that Matt McGloin, the quarterback for the Los Angeles Raiders has a $108 million contract while one of his team’s cheerleaders just sued the team over her pay of $5 per hour. It is hardly news that over 40 university presidents have pay packages that exceed $1 million or that the heads of 11 charities in the US are paid over $1 million while their volunteers are asked to donate their time and money. Does it matter how much it cost author J.K. Rowling to write a series of novels that have created over $1 billion in wealth for her? How much did
So who exactly has the income that is proof of “inequality”? Times up: Apart from just railing against “the wealthy” as a nebulous group that excludes all rich liberals, they only complain about business leaders who earn a lot of money. Now why would that be?
“Income inequality” joins Peak Oil and Global Warming as frauds of the left that converge to advance a statist ideological agenda rather than advancing prosperity and liberty.
Liberals like to talk about “income inequality” because it is a useful tool with which to talk others out of their liberty and property.
How does he reconcile building this?
The property, at 550 Quadrille Blvd., is just north of the Palm Beach County Courthouse. The towers combined would be between 800,000 to 900,000 square. Greene bought the 3.3 acre site last year for $15 million.
The office tower will be state of the art, designed to attract top headquarter and corporate tenants. Meanwhile, the second tower will consist of a five-story hotel downstairs, condos upstairs, a health club, a restaurant, and outdoor and indoor tennis courts.
Business and government leaders say the time is right for new, Class A office towers in downtown West Palm Beach.
He seems to have LESS of an education. It should be FEWER things.
“This man is scum. He shrewdly shorted stock by playing off other peoples misery. That isnt illegal, but what he said about the rest of us makes him a Soros.”
Actually, Greene shorted worthless mortgage bonds, and I give him and a few others like himself tremendous credit for doing that, because it was obvious to thousands of us that the subprime mortgage bubble was a total scam, and he figured out how to make some money honestly regarding the situation, unlike the criminals who floated the bonds to start with.
However, that being said, instead of being humble and thankful after he makes HIS billions, the SOB turns around and tells the rest of us peasants that we’re eating too much gruel and need to cut back. Words fail me in describing what a worthless human being he is to have and express such attitudes after achieving such success.
Leona Helmsley updated for the 2010s:
“Less Things In Life? That’s For The Little People!”
Looking at his wife and him we will see his true outlook on life in about 3 years as his young cootchie serves him with divorce papers
Here is a great guy for Obama to tax to the max. He should be so happy to give his millions to our Socialist president to redistribute to The Middle Class.
I used to watch Robin Leach’s “Lifestyles Of The Rich and Famous”. There was a time I envied them.
People like Jeff Greene have changed my perspective. They’re scum - brats with a sense of entitlement who look down at the rest of us.
While we may never get to join their exclusive club, they don’t want us to have comfortable lives because it grates on them that the poorest people today can live like royalty once did.
They want to return us to the Middle Ages - they the lords of the manor and we the peasants eking out a miserable existence upon the earth.
Thanks but no thanks.
Just another POS like Warren Buffett. They got theirs but they don’t want you to have the opportunity to make your fortune.
You may not like his message, but the indisputable truth is that America and most of the world is effectively bankrupt.
The only unknown is how long it takes to really blow up.
Yup, he reminds me also of Obama...
