BRIDGETON, N.J. — Another police killing is stirring anger in another town, this time in New Jersey, where a tense traffic stop captured on video ended with a passenger shot to death as he stepped out of a car with his hands raised at shoulder height.

The newly released footage from a police dashboard camera shows Bridgeton officers Braheme Days and Roger Worley in a Dec. 30 stop that escalates quickly after Days warns his partner about seeing a gun in the glove compartment of the Jaguar...

[SNIP]

Reid, 36, had spent about 13 years in prison for shooting at New Jersey State Police troopers when he was a teenager. He was also arrested last year on charges including drug possession and obstruction; Days was one of the arresting officers then.

I never said passenger side officer reached into the glove compartment.

Read closely here. It appears based on the video, the passenger side officer reached in and removed a weapon, prior to the passenger exiting the vehicle.

Watch the video.

It was not wise of the officer to tell the suspect that he was going to kill him if he reached for something. Secondly, exciting the vehicle was not enough of a threat increase to shoot the suspect.

Christie might get to work on his riot control.

I saw the video. I didn’t see the officer reach in and remove a weapon. I could see the cop when the shooting started. Did you watch the video?

He decided to reach around, and force his way outta the car.

My guess is that he was planning on bullrushing the cop and then running. He knew once they saw the gun that he would be going back to prison.

In fact the passenger side officer was holding his weapon with his right hand, and appeared when he reached into vehicle he pulled back and had what clearly appeared to be a handgun in his left hand.

You keep asking me if I saw the video...That’s odd.

And doesn’t mean he doesn’t have another weapon. And the cop was visible when the shooting started.

You say I "keep asking" you when I only asked you once. After you asked me the same question. That's odd.

But if the “anyone” has a known history of shooting at cops?

This is in NJ land of gun control. CCW is only for politically connected all others must follow rules, you can only carry pistol in locked container in trunk of car unloaded on way to range. Anything else and you will be read your rights.

You change the subject quickly...

So you agree now it clearly appears the officer removed a weapon from the vehicle prior to the suspect exiting right?

And the cop was visible when the shooting started.

I don't think that is much of an issue regarding this shoot.

BTW, both officers shot the suspect and appears the driver side officer shot the suspect once or possibly twice which appears would have been rounds to the back of the suspect, if he indeed hit his intended target.

I counted 6 rounds per audio.

Well after being told what happened, you still asked me if I watched the video. When it was you who clearly did not watch it closely.

No?

Then why did you make an issue of it by falsely stating that the officer wasn't visible?

Definitely NO. You didn’t see the cop when the shooting started so it brought your statements into question. Hard to believe you actually watched the video. That still doesn’t explain why you said “keep asking” when I asked once. Poor observational skills do explain it.

Do you work at a dial an argument call center?

During the shoot the passenger side officer was moving out of the field of view and in fact left the field of view.

In fact the passenger side officer backing away would have likely been looking directly at the suspect, who appeared to have both hands raised up to about the height of his shoulders.

I agree, since you're the one who watched the video and never saw the officer remove the weapon from the suspect vehicle.

You seen to only want to argue and attack. You've become a distraction.

Go bother someone else...

Thanks.

I did not see the suspect "lung" at the officer, as the officer was not even in the video field of view at the time of the shoot.

Both of those statements can't be true. Do you want to pick one and stick with it?

"(So now we'll have a rhetorical "battle" over definition of what "armed" and "unarmed" is)"

Perhaps, but armed or not armed is not the point. An armed man may not be a deadly threat, and an unarmed man may be.
