NBC video report reveals this couple moved out weeks ago. The husband jokes about this in the interview and was only fined $300 so far? He didn't bother to shut off the gas or water before plowing the structure to the ground.

He must have shut them off...or the first time that bulldozer made a spark, the place would have blown up and there would be water all over the place.

What the media was probably trying to say is that the utility companies weren't called to read the meters for a shutoff.
