Why didn’t the refs who handled the balls ON EVER PLAY notice this, if it was so flagrant and noticeable?

Yet it seemed to hinder rather than help...

Under inflated:

Tom Brady in the first half: 11-for-21, 52 percent completions, 95 yards, one touchdown, one interception, 60.6 passer rating

After the refs re- inflated:
Tom Brady in the second half: 12-for-14, 86 percent completions, 155 yards, two touchdowns, zero interceptions, 157.3 passer rating

Patriots in the first half: Outscored the Colts 17-7

Patriots in the second half: Outscored the Colts 28-0

Three Bama players are on the Seahawks’ team. Only one Bama boy plays for the Patriots. They are all good guys.

Canceling or forfeiting the Super Bowl is just not going to happen. There is no stopping the runaway money train known as "The Super Bowl."

You and other Patriot fans are missing the point. It doesn’t matter whether they won or lost or by how much. The asterisk-laden Coach Belichick and the Patriots were caught cheating yet again. Bottom line.

Yes - they are the best team in the league when it comes to getting penalized for things everyone else does.

Nobody here in Indy is claming the outcome would have changed for much. The Patriots are a better team at the moment.

However, this is constant complaint against the Patriots, they tweek the rules and they have been caught cheating before.

This cheat was to help themselves more than it was to hurt the Colts. Either way, they just should not have done it.

I think the best explanation for this is the pressure with which the ball is gripped. Players are squeezing and hanging on to it for dear life. Refs are just resting the ball in their palms with probably minimal pressure with their fingers.

It’s worth considering that football players are enormously strong and players that handle the ball have hand strength far greater than an average male. Someone with average hand strength probably couldn’t feel any difference between a ball inflated to 10.5 PSI and one inflated to 13.5 PSI because in either case it would feel hard as a rock.

I would figure the refs may think they are wrong, they aren’t actually playing the game.

The truth is that the Patriots won the game, that is not the problem. The problem is that the Patriots have been known to cheat and this is just one more complaint that is backed with proof.

The outcome would have been a Patriots win, but why do they always have to act unethically when it really is not necessary?

I did not make that assumption.

since the issue is raised, I would assume each team had it’s own calibrated gage

I tried to find the answer and confirmed each team provides it’s own 12 balls for inspection 2.5 hours before the game

I did not learn exactly how the pressure is tested or when

People missed the point.

IF Patriots and their coach are so much above the rest of the league, why is it they constantly have ‘different interpretation of the rules’?

What is the point of the nfleague have all kinds of parties negotiating/agreeing to certain set of rules if everybody gets to interpret them differently?

If Russell Wilson had stayed at NC State, he’ll probably break more school records but end up with 5th / 6th round pick with who know what team.

UW-Madison (and Big Ten) provided the vehicle for the guy to shine on bigger stage. And Badgers were in need of a decent (let alone a good) QB. It was a win-win. No surprise that he continued to acknowledge his opportunity at UW (pronounced U Dub).

All of that said, which just proves Russell Wilson a really smart/mature young man.

Bill innovated here and complied with the rules, I think, while gaining an advantage. Boo Hoo to all who cry cheater. I am not a pats fan but admire the use of science to gain an advantage in a competitive environment.

“Just too bad the Packers had to blow the game in the last couple minutes. Seahawks need a humility check. Pete Carroll came to Seattle after been found guilty of NCAA infractions which resulted in USC’s entire record being vacated from the undefeated 2005–06 regular season.”

2006 was 9 years ago. The Sea Hawk players 9 years ago were still playing football in Jr and High school. The fans in Seattle have nothing to do with USC. I am sure a lot of the front office had nothing to do with the USC issue. So why in the world do you think Seattle needs a humility check?
