Horrors Continue Under Michelle O’s Lunch Rules

Empty chicken nuggets, ‘thimble-sized’ portions, rotten fruit

Desperate students are still taking to Twitter to reveal the horrors of school lunch under First Lady Michelle Obama’s rules, including empty chicken nuggets and complaints that meals taste like “prison food.”

While the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) raves about “locally sourced chicken sandwiches” that meet nutrition standards served in a school district in South Carolina, students across the country complain about what they are eating under the new rules.

“My poor little sister has to eat prison food #ThanksMichelleObama,” one student tweeted on Friday.

Students are unhappy about their “chickpea sliders” and whole grain pizza, mandated by the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act, which was championed by Mrs. Obama. The USDA has a 33-page guide—complete with flow charts—telling schools how they can meet the whole grain requirements.

Traveling on JAT back in the day, my friend simply clapped her hands together once over the thing on the lunch tray. Like it was going to fly any second. I laughed all the way to Zagreb. Actually the food in the country itself was wonderful. Don’t know what that object on the plate was.

Gee, how could these downtrodden parents and their little darlings counter this atrocity?!?!

Hey, I know.... bring lunch FROM HOME and not expect the school to provide it! (yeah, yeah, I know all about the “forbidding home-packed lunches” stories, but until I’ve seen actual proof of a school ripping a pb&j sandwich from a hungry child’s hand, I’ll stick with my version).

“I’ve watched kids take their cup of vegetables or fruit they’re required to take and just throw it away.”

Well, there’s the problem right there. The Federal government is allowing the kids to throw away the things the kids don’t won’t to eat instead of also FORCING them to eat the things they’re required to take. It’s such a simple solution.

Chickpeas are only hummus after you add some tasty stuff to it. I make my own. Chickpeas by themselves are really blah.

"Thanks, glad you were paroled."

LOL! Thanks. We officers used to say we were doing our own time behind bars, in 8 hour shifts. Got paroled/retired in 2003.

In and of itself no. But Democrats making kids go hungry for no scientifically valid reason, is. And thats what they are doing. You can’t tell me a high school linebacker and a 7th grade freshman girl eat the same. Mut Moose tells parents just that.

You seem to forget that ‘the children’ works both ways. And a pol with half a brain would, with truth on his side, capitalize on that.

Then you tie that to all the other crap Dems do to 1984 our lives. And it sticks because the food gives conservatives an in. It resonates.

#1 Drop Common Core Crap from all schools. Go back to basics.
#2Eliminate all curriculum aimed at Homosexual normalization, Political Correctness, Marxist Agenda's.
#3Restore Recess and Physical Education in all grades from K-11. Make room for it by following though with #2.
#4. Restore meals with TASTE kids will eat. The objective is for them to actually eat. Remember?
#5. Encourage after school physical activities and that doesn't have to mean team sports. Swimming is a real intense workout.
#6. The problem isn't the food consumed. The Wookie eats as she pleases. The problem is LACK OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES to burn off Calories. That problem has a simple common sense solution.

In high school I was normal weight likely underweight for the standards of the 1970's. On Friday nights it wasn't uncommon for a teenage boy age 16 out running around with friends to consume even 15 Krystals {AKA White Castles for northern folk} each still and not gain weight. Why? Physical Activity that's why.

Classes once teaching basics kids need in life have been taken over & compacted to full time PC Indoctrination camps by Liberals.

The ones griping the most about wanting to feed kids their so called Healthy Limited Portions Crappy Meals are the exact same ones poisoning the kids minds with Marxist PC BS which is taking up what was PE and Recess time. The lesson agenda here seems to be teaching kids compliance with Thugs and Tyrants who have long ago overstepped their positions of office elected or otherwise.

I guess. I wasn’t really disagreeing with you. But with all of the crap that this bunch has destroyed, perhaps irretrievably, since they ascended unto the heavens, it seems like crapping up the already crappy taste of school lunches isn’t even a top 100 offense.

I’d guess that there are starving taxpayers in Chicago that might like to have access to this wasted food that they’re expected to subsidize, if not to cautiously consume themselves, then perhaps to feed to their pets or add to a compost pile.

In general, I agree completely. It’s not. But the way I look at it is that Joe average could give two forks about important stuff/big picture. Hell, they proved that time and time and tie again.

Something this meaningless in the big pix sense though, they would/will glom onto. Because no one thinks they can do squat about Bhenghazi or Barry or JonBon or Illegals personally. But they CAN do something about this. Or at least think they can. At least they might try which they will never do with the big issues.

We got here incrementally and we will only extract ourselves incrementally. At least thats my theory.

“when Auburn prison (NY) had their own bakery, each convict was able to take a whole loaf of bread back to their cells to make sandwiches later if they wanted. “

I am guessing the bread and anything in the sandwich was already pre-cut before it left the bakery?

The food issue is simply because since as first LAdy people were making fun of her weight...so she goes on a diet...the nation ‘s kids do to...as it was about the only thing she could “bring to the table” for her role as first lady.

Heck I never ate a HS school lunch. Parents could not afford it. I ate bologna sandwiches mom made, and bought a carton of milk for a dime. In grade school we ate at our desk that which we brought from home with a nickle half pint of milk.

I started school in 1963 in First Grade. Most East Tennessee schools didn't have Kindergarten. Lunch was $.35 and a nickle would get you ice cream after you ate all your food. The food wasn't real bad and seconds were allowed and encouraged. Mainly I recall taking my lunch most of the time in grade school.

In high school Friday's were the big day as far as lunch went $2 would get you two lunches of hamburger and fries. They also had a sandwich line every day where you could grab a PBJ, Bologna, Ham, etc and a bag of chips. In the early 1970's kids generally weren't over weight. PE was required in high school till senior year and recess in lower grades was an 45- minutes - hour outside if weather permitted or about 30-40 minutes in the gym if it didn't. During the spring when we had finished out text books for the year recess after lunch would often be nearly two hours. School year began the day after Labor Day and ended Memorial Day weekend.

The teachers managed to get all required instructions in, we retained what we were taught through the summer and had about a two week review when summer was over, and our older teachers had gotten their certificates before Marxism had taken over education. Mildred Doyle the Super of Knox County Schools ruled with an Iron Fist LOL. A no nonsense lady who wasn't PC nor were the schools. Anderson County same thing. John Rice Irwin kept it to the basics.
