Okay, got it. Thanks for the background. I was thinking that iOS8 had skuomorphism and that Yosemite did away with it, but it sounds like the major change actually came with iOS7. That said, doesn’t Yosemite replace the shelf of icons along the bottom of the desktop, the ones that are rendered with textures and shadows, with simple flat icons? I read a blurb recently by someone who was put off by Yosemite’s “starkness” and I think that was part of what they were reacting to.
Yeah, I do believe Apple is matching up iOS 7 and 8 with Yosemite, in terms of the user interface look and feel. That’s the way it’s headed.
