Unless he was on a curve, I can’t believe the engineer wouldn’t have seen him and been blowing his horn. A fit guy could have jumped or rolled out of the way fairly easily. Had to have been seriously not paying attention, unless the engineer didn’t see him until way too late and didn’t blow the horn.
