On Thursday, a local source in Nineveh province said, that the ‘Wild Boar’ aircraft which belongs to the U.S. Air Force has carried out four air strikes that killed and wounded dozens of ISIS elements, adding that the aircraft sparked panic in the ranks of ISIS.
The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “The U.S. aircraft A-10 Warthog (Wild Boar) carried out, at dawn today, four air strikes on gatherings of ISIS elements in the village of Sultan Abdullah in Makhmour district, southeast Mosul,” adding that, “The raids resulted in the death and injury of dozens of ISIS elements.”
The source, who requested anonymity, added, “The aircraft sparked panic in the ranks of ISIS after bombing its elements and flying in spaces close to the ground,” adding that, “Elements of the terrorist organization targeted the aircraft with 4 Strela missiles and but that did not cause it any damage, prompting the remaining elements of the organization to leave the bodies of their dead and carry the wounded to escape towards the Shirqat district (120 km north of Tikrit).”

This is the same outstanding ground support aircraft that the head of the Air Force is going to eliminate over the next five years. Yea for her. /s
All unstable elements, and highly toxic.
For many reasons I believe that ground support should belong to the forces actually on the ground. Hog pilots apparently love their job and the plane itself but just about everyone else in the AF - not so much.
Hah!!! I thought I was alone in claiming that. They should have passed an amendment back in 1948.
The A-10 is the only airplane in our arsenal that was specifically designed for a role in support of ground troops.
The fighter jocks who run the Air Force have been making fun of it for years and advocating its demise. But in every war or military effort we’ve had since it came on line, it is loved by the troops on the ground because it can hang around for hours and give them a lot of fire support.
And By law the Congress isn't allowed to fund a military branch other than Navy and Army.
So post modern inteligentsia. Cannot say the killed people; instead the took out elements.
