I was at The Sands in Vegas one lunchtime. I met an attractive young woman eating lunch alone, so naturally I asked if I could join her. Turns out she was a “spokesmodel” who worked conventions and trade shows and the like. If she showed up at the poolside bar in a bathing suit they’d comp her for lunch. I looked around and there were a few more like her. So the Sands was paying for eyecandy to hang around.
Hey, it worked, I ate lunch at the pool bar more than once!
On the other hand, when me and my scruffy dusty camo’d pals showed up in the main casino after a day on the range, a Sands employee suggested that we go to a small bar out of the way in the back, for a free beer! They paid us to be out of sight.
I see the eye candy all the time at trade shows. Most amazing women I saw was at the Heli-Expo in Houston at the Russian built helicopter booth.
If you have ever been to China, there will not be many free meals given away. There is a lot of guilt there.
