For only the second time in nearly two decades, the 20 Academy Awards acting nominations went to a group made up entirely of white actors and actresses.

I've got questions about all of this.

How come virtually every American-financed movie has a Brit or a Canadian in it? How come so many of the Smithsonian channel features are made by Brit production companies? There are kids and young people who are beginning to believe, I think, that America barely participated in WWII, and that Great Britain really fought the war single-handedly.

UCLA, USC, and other schools are pouring bachelor's and master's degree holders into the cinema world, and we can't find Americans who can do this work? And now, the production companies and studios are hiring consults to teach Brit actors to speak like Americans?

What is going on here?
