Tulsa police released the names of suspects in a deadly convenience store robbery.
Police received a call of an armed robbery Tuesday night at the Ryan's Convenience Store near 21st and Mingo.
The clerk told police that three masked men entered the store armed with handguns. Police say the clerk pulled out his semi-automatic pistol and shot two of the three suspects.
Brian Powell, 27, died at the scene. A 16-year-old boy was also shot and later died at the hospital.
Police say they've arrested Lakeit Thompson, 20, and a 17-year-old man in connection to the robbery.
The shooting death investigation will be turned over to the Tulsa County District Attorney's Office for review.
Several decades ago I lived for eight years in a small CO town.
Robber took two clerks at a liquor store into the basement and shot them both in the head.
Owners of all the stores got together. Thereafter every clerk open-carried a pistol, and there were shotguns racked behind the counters.
If you wanted to work in a liquor store in that town, you had to take combat pistol and shotgun training and agree to carry at all times while on duty. No law required this, it was just an agreement between the store owners. But supported by city, cops and citizens.
No more shootings, AFAIK.

If they behaved like civilized human beings. If they had applied themselves and learned while in school thus getting an education. They would have been ridiculed for “acting white”.
It was either Lakeit or Leaveit.
They have no education because they choose to drop out of school. They have no hope because they would rather steal than work at a minimum wage job, although to be fair, they probably don't have anywhere near the skills necessary to perform a minimum wage job. They have a bone deep sense of entitlement which leads them to think that they can take anything from anyone because it bees their due. They have no concept that you actually have to work for a living because A. Deys mommas don'ts do nuttin and still gits money, B. Working for a living bee too white C. The government from the turd in the whitehouse on down tells them they're victims of racism. D. Etc.
And finally it's easier to steal than work. (Except when you get shot)
And in an instant he was cast in a Lakeit of fire.
I figured.
Journalism isn’t what it used to be, either.
One would think that the hoodlum class in general would learn to hit the nice safe chain stores where corporate doesn’t give a damn about their employees and forbids them to defend themselves.
I used to live in that area! Glad I don’t anymore.
It’s a sure thing that these sort don’t watch the news or they’d see that crime doesn’t pay!! They think they can beat the odds, I guess.
The convenience store clerk = A true friend of the taxpayers
Somebody has to drive the getaway car. Wheelman usually stays with the car.
This is the type of story I could read every morning to get me started!
