AS I write this my screen is all pink. From what I can find out it is not caused by a virus.
It comes and goes, but is very annoying. I have removed the cable from the monitor to the computer and cleaned it up and retried it after making a reconnection, It didn't help.
I also rebooted the computer to no avail.
I even bought a top line registry cleaner and my computer works faster, but the pink screen is back. It comes and goes.
I am thinking of replacing the monitor because it is old but I would like any suggestions before doing that since I like my present monitor. I don't have a spare monitor to try.
Any suggestions? -tom
I’d try a new monitor cable first. True, you can borrow a monitor and that might clear things up.
Yep, I’d try another monitor 1st, they don’t last forever.
A lot of newer flat screen TV’s can handle a computer input. Just temporarily, you might try that.
Your computer appears to have made a lifestyle choice and you should respect that.
Your computer went gay.

If you are using an analog VGA cable (the connector has 3 rows of five pins each) then you are intermittently missing the green signal.
The VGA cable carries three primary colors, Red, Green, and Blue. If Green is missing, you are left with Red and Blue, which will make white things look Magenta, a sort of pinkish hue.
You either have a bad VGA cable, an intermittent monitor, or a bad or intermittent video card.
Try a new cable first, then borrow a monitor. If neither one fixes the issue...
The most common cause of colour problems is a faulty VGA cable and/or connector. VGA uses a conductor for each of red, green & blue so if one of them is flaky you’ll get this. My guess is that the wire that carries the green component is frayed.
If swapping out the cable and/or monitor doesn’t resolve the issue you’ll need a new graphics card.
My Acer laptops screen turned Red while I was shopping on line ,it’s the LCD screen it’s dying ,if I connect it to an external monitor it’s fine

If it is all pink how are you viewing FR?
LOL

No, this post has nothing to do with the thread. It just seems like the right thing to say.
Sounds like an LCD monitor on its last legs.
The connection AT the computer of the video cable might be the problem. Wiggle it a bit to test.
What type of monitor is it? Are we talking about a panel monitor like LCD/LED or old school CRT (glass tube)? LCD/LED/Plasma monitors can have these problems if soldered connections to the media come loose or the cable goes bad.
Try replacing the monitor cable first. If that doesn’t work, it’s either your PC graphics card or the monitor itself. If it’s an old CRT, you probably lost one of the elements.
When my monitor died, I bought a TV because a 24” 1920x1080 TV was cheaper than a 22” monitor with lower res and no speaker.
Maybe your computer was infected with HomoGlobin
