It wasn’t about the QB, it is about the coaching, totally different type of football they were playing against Oregon.

I grew up in Ohio but live in Oregon. I like the spirit, but knowing there was no chance.

If you look at where the ball was positioned on the field, even in the starting position, it was on the Oregon Side, and when Oregon had the ball they couldn’t move it reliably. This technical foot ball is designed to do that and to get flags on the other team, it also creates loss yardage.

If you had another team like playing the same type and level of game, it would have been a very low scoring game. Something like 7-0 or even 1-2

I never bought into that “third string” nonsense. He was the 5th best FB player in HS and last night he showed why. We just thought he would make a few mistakes and we would take advantage. They made the mistakes, but we never took advantage.

Yes you can - 10 conference champions - however each conference determines, 1 independent, and 5 at large. 16 teams, 4 weeks - 1 champion. That is unarguable, and even better than the basketball tournament because the regular season really, really matters.

In NCAA Division I football there are 128 teams. If you go to Div II and III there are likely 300+

OK, I goofed. Yep, over 300 total for all divisions, a little over a hundred in Div I football. Still, not bad.

Yea for Ohio - my team. They did a great job with the best coach around. He lead the Gators to be champions with Tebow, and now Ohio. Wonderful!!!

You made some comment suggesting that West Coast teams couldn't compete with the Big 10. Since 1960, the Pac-12 holds a 32-18 edge when they have faced the Big 10 in the Rose Bowl. Since 1990, the Pac-12 has won or shared six national championships, compared to four by the Big 10. I think the West Coast is holding its own against the Big 10.

I guess that's what happens when the last time you won the Rose Bowl was 1938.

No, that’s not what I suggest, I suggest that they have to change their coaching when faced with this style of football, not everyone in the East uses this style of football, but when they do, they adjust.

For example, Florida doesn’t, but when they play a team who does, they plan for it.
