I have no other symptoms - such as Fainting, dizziness, shortness of breath, etc. I will celebrate my 80th. BD this Saturday!

Don’t let it worry you. Dr found a heart murmur in my heart about 10 years ago. We just watched it, no longer present. Whatever was causing it healed.

Just take it easy and don’t let the Dr panic you into something,

Prayers sent, to ease your heart and mind.

If that's the most pressing health concern you have, on the brink of 80 years old, I salute you !

When my dad was a lad he was told he had a heart murmer and not a long lifespan. He then was in World War two, came home, raised a family, but still worried his whole long life. At 80 he got a pacemaker. He died at 95 years old, having wasted many hours during those many years worrying about his heart. People worry about one thing and a totally different thing happens. Be well, prayers with you for peace of mind and well being.

Exactly! A cooing murmur in an 80 year old is often caused by aortic stenosis.

This is common.

I hope your doctor gave you some good information.

Please don't worry about it.

Worst case scenario is a valve replacement.

Not a bed of roses, but fixable.

My dad had his replaced 2 years ago and felt better than he had in years.

He was tired all the time.

The operation made him a new man.

Just checking back to see how you are doing, TNoldman. It’s clear you have many good friends here who care about you.

Several of them have shared their own personal experiences about the condition you have, and they seem quite positive about it.

Many decades ago, I had a murmur, too. Every doctor said I did, and now I’ve outlived most of them, and no one else can find it.

Please, don’t worry. Everything will be alright.

I saw Carteogist late yesterday. He gave me a clean health report. He could hear only a slight murmur which he said was not worth mentioning. He said for patients like me to plan a valve replacement in 20 years. Ps: My 80th BD was 1-10-15.

Thank you God and all my FReeper friends.
