That email is a scam. Anytime somebody lures you in with a promise to make or save money and then asks you to purchase materials up front is scamming you.

Anyway, you might be better off with that electric home. Since mid-November, I've been getting deliveries of oil every three weeks averaging around $700 per delivery. Even with the low prices, it's still very expensive to heat a home with oil or gas in the frigid Northeast.

I didn't think I needed to explain I knew it was a scam, but yeah ... I know

They never meant anything to me because I supplemented my oil heat with the woodburner

Thank the EPA for this—most, if not all distillate fuel oil (mostly No 1 and No 2) must conform roughly to EN 590, the ULS(D) standard with <15ppm sulphur.

I can still remember a time when distillate fuel oil sold at a discount to gasoline. It wasn’t too long ago either: even LSD/500ppm sulphur DFO was still cheaper than gasoline.
