I was able to talk with David over the weekend.
He is at home and in good spirits. He is trying to gain some weight back in preparation for starting Chemo-therapy the middle of next month. I offered to send him 40 pounds but he said he had to do this on his own. He did say that it was a unique position for him.
He thanks all of you for your prayers as do I.

Thanks for the update. Chemotherapy is no fun, but tell David it’s important to keep his spirits up, because I have found it works best if you do. Will continue to pray for his recovery.

He might consider some of the weight gain powders (for making shakes/smoothies) from GNC, etc. 2500-3500 calories a pop helps keep the weight from bleeding off. Expensive, but very helpful. Once he starts chemo and/or radiation, it will be difficult for him to eat enough to maintain as he won't feel like it and it won't taste good. It is crucial to maintain as much weight as possible and to force himself later on.
