Old Ben is just a lowly civilian puke. So can somebody here please tell me -- do hand grenades float?

Hand grenades are relatively heavy - the ones I used never floated ...

Only hand grenades and horse shoes do!

I would often like to know the story of how the grenade got there, also why an M1 Garand was discarded in the Bottomless Lakes in New Mexico, and why an 1873 Winchester carbine was chinked inside the wall of a log cabin to be found only when the cabin was tore down back in the 1960s.

What secrets they could tell!

This grenade was obviously left on the beach by a Tea Party terrorist in order to hurt one of the children.

Benny, Benny, grenades do not float. Besides, Paradise Cove has been used for so many movie shoots, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a prop from an old war movie. Paradise Cove is also Annette Funicello, Fabian "Beach Blanket Bingo" territory.

Also a prime location for the "Rockford Files."

Perhaps an airsoft grenade. They look real and go bang, and they float as well.

When I was a kid, I used to have a hollow plastic grenade that popped caps on impact when thrown. It might have floated...

Movie props and fakes likely do, especially for gullible liberal news networks.

Real ones have a lot of iron in them.

“It’s unclear where the device came from and what kind of grenade it was.” What is clear is we have a bunch of buffoons reporting news.

Well, geesh, it's a floating grenade, and it's from Malibu. Why do I have to do all the journalistic work around here?

I remember those! Hollow but a metal weighted end, and you slid a cap in there. We played with those on Tarawa St., Fort Benning, Georgia.

When that got boring, we headed out for the piney woods and looked for real ones, but gave dud mortar rounds a wide berth.

Yep, real grenades don’t float. Mebbe one washed ashore like a sea shell. If you hold it up to your ear, you either hear the ocean or blow yer dammed head off.

“Rockford Files” was a good show. I watch it nearly every day on METV. It does have a lot of hard to believe moments.

For instance, I don’t thing Rockford had a filing cabinet in that trailer for his “files”. Also that trailer was just out there on asphalt with no plumbing visible. Also the outside looked like a junk trailer while inside it was pretty nice.

Also far larger on the inside than it could have possibly been.
