Ummm-No. Years ago, pregnant women who worked “bound themselves up” in order to hide their pregnancy as long as possible. They were fired when it became evident they were pregnant. Many of these women were war widows, or just widows, or women who’s husbands had abandoned them. I know this because my Aunt, Grand-mother, Mother and former coworkers told me this happened during their life-time.
When a woman is pregnant and a medical condition presents itself, and with a Doctor’s order, I do think there should be work accomodations made. Do I think they need to go on disability? No But if you have a good employee you fire them vs. letting them do something different while lifting restriction due to pregnancy is required.
How about Cops? How many are re-assigned a desk job because they can’t for whatever reason go out on Patrol? How about our Federal and State workers? They get re-assigned, work from home, etc.
