NY merchants will want the Mayor’s head on a pike when the turnout come crashing down tonight.

Yeah merchants are going to get destroyed, first off it’s going to be absolutely freezing, if people want to see the ball drop they have to get there early as they close off Times square and I doubt many people are going to want to stand all night in 20 degree weather, and second anyone who goes there is risking their life. Now gang members are threatening to “massacre cops” so I highly doubt any cop wants to stand in 20 degree weather in a crowd of people waiting to get shot. I bet right now they are scrambling like crazy to get the night off.
