Austin is probably better for your allergies, but is chock full of liberals. San Antonio is lower, hotter, more touristy and has a few more sketchy areas safety wise than Austin. San Antonio is more diverse, but Austin certainly is not lily white, either. Austin is a little more vibrant, with the University of Texas and a nightlife and local music scene that is great. San Antonio has a lot more tourist attractions; Austin has more parks and hiking trails.

Austin is one of the worst cities on the planet for allergies. Good night life though.
Not sure about SA, but Austin is a bad place for anyone with allergies.
From December to February, the mountain cedar (actually, it is juniper, and not cedar at all) pollen count gets so high that many people suffer from "cedar fever".
Yes, it is so bad, people run low-grade fevers.

Check the statistics. Some years, Austin has been listed as one of the USA’s worst places for allergies.
When are your moving and why? What makes you choose the to locations you threw out?
Racial diversity and safety? Let me know where you find those coexisting.
