By all appearances, Congress has been asleep at the wheel while the current occupant of the oval office not only shreds the US Constitution, but he masticates the oath he took to assume office ...in which he SWORE to preserve & protect! He's been awfully busy undermining national security given today's normalization with Cuba announcement.
The press has blown this alleged ebola threat out of proportion.
From a pharmaceutical publication

Ebola is harder to control than the other diseases without complex and expensive protection of health-care workers and anyone else who comes in contact with a patient during the late stages. That is why it is frightening. It has an uncanny ability to spread at that time if everyone is not completely covered and observing the protocols of removal of gear. This is not true with the other diseases mentioned.

“but they are insignificant compared to other diseases, and other things that afflict us mere mortals.”
Not when considering the death rate once infected with Ebola.
I am talking about the number of deaths, not the death rate.
Other diseases every one of us face in this country are more prevalent, kill more people, and have higher death rates.
Those are the diseases we should be focused on. -tom
