These stories make me sick. It’s been established just about everywhere that a newborn can be left without question at a fire station or hospital.

Honestly the mother in this story looks to be a halfwit that could not find her way out of a paper bag.

According to a probable cause statement, Englert told police she was afraid to tell her parents about the pregnancy and she said she discarded the baby in hopes it would die and solve her problems.Remind me again who said he didn't want his daughters burdened with a baby.

Makes me wonder when the man (who turns out to be the grandfather) removed this innocent baby from garbage.. what went through his mind? All I can say is I hope this little one is adopted by great, loving people.
To: momtothree
Never thought of that. The article said her parents never even knew she was pregnant. All the neighbors were running to get someone who was “tall enough” to reach the baby, have to wonder if that was the grandfather?

"Officials said the infant had not received care or food before she was found in critical condition." Prayers up for the baby to live.
Sometimes they can make a recovery. I hope the weather was cold: cold weather slows the metabolic process way down and can protect against brain damage.
Another pray for the baby. Have to force myself to pray for the mother, too --- who manifests a depraved and/or incompetent mind.
Lord have mercy on us all.

What a terrible introduction to life this poor baby has had.
It’s 38 degrees in Kearns, Utah right now.

I cringe when I think some one actually screwed that POS.....probably an Obama son

Maybe it’s just me, but being under a murder indictment would be problematic to me.

Good. That may be why the baby wasn't dead. Still hoping for the best.
Hope the baby's adopted by somebody who can provide a lot of time and care (infant stimulation and so forth) to remediate the damage done. And serious skin-to-skin bonding starting right now. I'd take that baby if I could.

I know.
Even though this baby will never remember that happened during its first hours of life (assuming that it does survive), the experience will have had an affect on it in every way possible. It’s going to need a lot of love and kindness.

Its 38 degrees in Kearns, Utah right now.I clicked on the link and the article says this occurred back in August, and that the baby was treated, and subsequently released from the hospital on the same day the mother was in court for a hearing.
There are several related links below this story at the original link.

While in college I interned at a group home for adult mentally retarded. Keeping them fully clothed and vertical was a major part of the job. Left on their own they would have been mass producing baby democrats 24/7
