my 6 year old niece made me and her grandma watch Frozen. Got her the Elsa doll for her birthday. Now she wants an American Girl doll. Those are over $50...at least the Frozen dolls are cheaper.

Way over $50. They ARE better made (though like almost all, still in Red China). In our case our eldest daughter's love for her historical doll got her to read the books, and the books are decent with some good history. They have made her an avid reader, so for us it was worth it.
