I don’t think it’s a commentary on American consumerism. It’s a commentary on CAH’s audience, they like to be on both sides of a joke, being both the ridiculed and the ridiculer. For a couple years CAH’s Black Friday sale was to charge $5 more, and they were straight up about it, it wasn’t a hidden increase, it was advertised as “we’re charging $5 more on Black Friday”, and they made epic sales every time.
So. They sell bull**** and they blatantly upcharge prices.
They have identified a target rich market...
