If I recall correctly, the rifle was left in the trunk of the shooter’s car and he used a handgun inside the school. So what’s the basis of the suit?

On. What. Grounds. Defective product? The product worked just fine, it was the user who was defective.

This is a loser, nuisance suit

And without a doubt this suit was sold on the basis of "you pay nothing unless we collect".

The school was a gun-free zone.

If there are any conservative parents who had kids in Sandy Hook Elementary, they should sue the liberal parents and liberal school administrators for foisting an unsafe educational environment on their children.

The possibilities are endless. Ranchers, farmers, Kraft, General Mills, grocery stores and fast food joints.

Maybe the rifle escaped from the truck of the car and followed him in to the school.

Previous lawsuits against auto manufacturers led to a requirement that a latch release be located INSIDE the trunk of every car. Any weapon that is as sentient as the Bushmaster must be would certainly have known this fact and exploited it.

A few years back there was a huge fire at a Providence (RI) nightclub.Very ugly indeed...100 killed, mainly kids.As it turned out the nightclub owners had little insurance and few personal assets. So not long after the fire it was reported that the families planned to sure SHELL OIL COMPANY because Shell sponsored the tour of the group that was appearing that night.

Anyone here remember the Stockton Massacre in 1989? The way some of the news accounts were written, it sounded like Patrick Purdy was just standing around while his AK-variant hosed down the playground with bullets. It's almost as if the gun was floating through the air, intent on mayhem, and Purdy was desperately trying to prevent the gun from shooting those kids.

Sorry to say that you don’t know crap about rifles. It is not a military weapon.

SORRY TO SAY YOU DID NOT READ THE ARTICLE: A law firm representing the families of nine of the 26 people killed and a teacher injured at the Sandy Hook Elementary School says it has filed a lawsuit against the manufacturer, distributor and seller of the rifle used in the shooting.

The negligence and wrongful death lawsuit asserts that the Bushmaster AR-15 rifle should not have been made publicly available because it is a military weapon unsuited for civilian use.
