Never had a flu shot, can’t remember the last time I had the flu. I’m more than 1/2 century old.
Me as well. Turning 60 and never took the government needle and never had the flu. My wife of 32 yr has taken every year and I bet you she has had the flu half of the yearswe have been married
What exactly is the “flu”? Is that when you’re barfing? Or pneumonia-like symptoms?
When you get the flu, and you probably will at some point, you will never skip the shot again. And by flu I don’t mean some “flu bug” blah blah - I mean the full blown flu of the year flu. Especially for those over half century old, it SUX!!!
....speaking from experience here......
Me too.
Same here. Never get the flu shot, never get the flu.
Same with my sister, and my elderly mother. They never get it, either.
Back in November 2002, my father got the flu shot from a VA doctor. The next day, my father had the sniffles. The day after that, he woke up freezing cold. His body felt like a block of ice. He couldn’t even drink a glass of water without throwing up.
My sister and I took him to the ER. Dad was in the hospital for a week with pneumonia and congestive heart failure, and nearly died. Eventually, he recovered, but was never 100% his old self again. The doctor blamed it on the flu shot.
A young nurse at the hospital told me she got sick after getting the flu shot.
I know some people swear by them, but to each his (or her) own.
