Thoughts on the two programs? I love a good sleuthing show, but Elementary seems to muck up 100+ years of Sir Author Conan Doyle to me.
Dr Joan Watson?
Matthew McConaughey was brilliant in True Detective....
I am enjoying it.
From what I’ve seen, Elementary is just a copy of TNT’s Perspective using Sherlock’s and Watson’s names. I tried to watch it a few times but couldn’t get into it.
We don’t have HBO so I haven’t seen True Detective to make a comparison. I’ve heard it’s a good show.
Elementary is so full of BS PC crap I cant bear it.
Sherlock has elements of that but the acting and overall plot transcends all.
True Detective is awesome. It is single self contained story, great acting, creepy story.
There’s too much psycho-therapy and support groups going on in Elementary, too much self-aware relationship discussing. I’m losing patience with it.
True Detective was very well filmed and acted although the plot was over-the-top gothic.
They were going to make a new season of True Detective, new characters and actors.
Did you watch The Bridge? First season, superb. It would have been best, artistically speaking, if they’d ended with episode 11.
Don’t give it away! LOL
Tried to watch twice now.
It aint grabbing me.
Have not seen the Bridge.
Fargo was superb, and I look forward to a new season.
CBS has a habit of putting BS PC crap in their shows, some more so than others. I can put up with it IF the plots are good enough but Elementary doesn’t make the grade.
alright alright alright ...
How do you muck up Sir Author Conan Doyle?
CBS managed it.
Yes, they did. That’s why I quickly gave up trying to watch the show. There’s usually something interesting to watch on the Smithsonian Channel at that time of evening.
Ha!
What I do not understand is how the American market effs this stuff up.
They try to copy the NEW Sherlock and eff it up.
Like when America copied “Coupling” and created “Friends”
On the Other hand we have great shows that Brits love.
I am a a Sherlock Holmes fanatic but cannot abide “Elementary”
