[ Part of me wonders if this back and forth between the sexes has been going on for millenia with only recent global consequence being a result of the interconnectedness of society. As a man, I dont want a clingy, overly-dependent woman but I also dont want a feminist who sees me as nothing more than a sperm-donor. There has to be a balance between the two, but I dont think the worldwide media sees it that way. ]
As a woman I don’t think women should be servile slave creatures like islam preaches, however, I don’t think the other extreme is acceptable either and is just as bad.
The balance is more of a “Partnership” with each Man and woman in a relationship helping fill each opthers gaps in expertise and wisdom. This begins with both sides knowing their own weaknesses and strengths first followed by their partners. And then a willingness to help and allow to be helped fill in the those gaps in a complmentary manner.
I knew of a relationship that ended in divorace that was finaincially based that the Woman had no business handling the money in the family because she had no fiscal responsibility, but she was a prideful being that demanded that power in the relationship that would have better been left with the husband. She damnded control of the entire family’s economy yet wouldn’t even accept the responsibility of actually writing out the monthly checks.... So they had several utilities shut off occasionally because she refused to even write a check, even though she wouldn’t let her husband do it... Even if there was actually money in the bank to PAY that bill...
Both people in a relationshiop need to be HUMBLE enough to know their won limits and accept HELP from one another, but not to RELY too much on the other and become a BURDEN.
It is a delicate balance, and by our current culture’s “Romanitisation of Relationships” it almost never gets talked about in ANY POP CULTURE MEDIA, and we wonder why Divorace is such a Epidemic.....
My advice to Male Freepers in a pre-marrige relationship, If you Girlfriend EVER refers to herself as a “Princess”....
RUN!!!! RUN LIKE HELL AWAY FROM HER!
Well put, Grace, thank you.
