Yeah I guess when I said “early evening” I thought she’d know that’s around 5 or 6pm. As it is I woke up, didn’t even shower or enjoy a bite to eat before I made the 40 minute trek. I thought about what you said regarding her personal situation. Seems there could be something to it...we just spent all of last weekend 4 day holiday with them...everything seemed fine. I didn’t get any calls or texts from her all week...she usually never calls just to say hi and I’m not a phone person (for idle small talk) either but I did text her to ask how they’re all doing and about seeing her on Sunday (my first available day). If there were any personal issues going on with her I wish she’d have took the opportunity to say hey mom let’s go have a coffee or something last night instead of going into attack mode:(
If you are getting home from work around midnight, think about it...one doesn’t normally come home from work at 5 or 6pm and then go to bed! I’ve worked weird hours in my past, as did my husband for years, and sleep for me was always a problem. In his case he could crash at once and be ready for more work, in my case my body did not adjust, I just turned into a night owl. The problem is, many people like me cannot sleep well during the day, life goes on around us with yard workers, trash trucks, doorbells, etc.
Please take care of yourself first, either get more conventional hours or work on the sleep treatment with the hours you have. Be very specific when communicating with your daughter, and don’t get baited into any arguments, part of it could be exhaustion on your part which magnifies her issues and responses. She may have something overwhelming to her going on, but maybe is afraid of losing face if she shares it. Just suggestions, and best of luck to you!
