When I was there they did not let you in but I loved going to Egypt. In Luxor you do get to visit a couple of tombs in the Valley of the Kings and Queen Hatchetsup’s temple.
I was treated very warmly by everyone but that was 1997 & ‘99. I also thought Sharm el Sheik was amazing snorkeling. It is incredibly crowded and dirty but I Loved It!

Sharm el Sheikh was the first place I ever snorkeled. Fabulous. We also snorkeled at a place called Nuweiba which I hear is a strong candidate for being the place where Moses crossed the Red Sea.

We camped in that area for free and a wonderful young man who was posted with a UN peacekeeping force gave us some of his care package which his sister had sent him. We were traveling bare bones so really appreciated the goodies.

I loved Egypt. The pyramids were commercialized but fabulous to consider how old they were. I would love to go back to Egypt and Israel (which we also visited) some day.
