Yeah. Being dead ain't much of a living.
A nurse from our church has spent many years in Sierra Leone doing health work. She had returned to the states - but was asked to return to help with the Ebola crisis. She left last Sunday and plans to stay a few months.
Her faith is a lot stronger than mine is!
May Almighty God Bless her with continued good health.
The news blackout on this catastrophe is almost total.
If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.

(Since all records of obama's past were lost in a tragic boating accident and fire, no one can be certain that the guy in the red circle isn't him...)
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
Pretty amazing isn't it? One call from the czar and nobody reports anything.
Another dead doctor. We hear nothing.
People from the affected countries are flying in and out of the US for the Holiday season.
There will be a new rush of cases here in January and February.
