No the tariffs had little or no effect on the Great Depression. It’s a myth. Import/exports were only 5% of the entire economy back then. We made our own junk then, we didn’t need slave labor then somehow American survived, how is that?

No. That’s the liberal’s excuse to try to stave off their foreign trade investments.

The Great Depression never needed to happen but government caused it through irresponsible spending and taxation and regulation.

tariffs were a key domino in the rise of the hoover/roosevelt socialist..

there are several of them on this site..
