Bono’s song is bad because it does not tell the impoverished Third World what it really needs to hear: Slash taxes, deregulate your economies and tell your people to get to work instead of waiting for handouts from the West.
When this track came out, I was in my teens and was appalled that Bono was singing ‘tonight thank God it’s them and not you.’
