The past is new again for agent 007: The next James Bond film will be called "Spectre."
Director Sam Mendes announced the name of the 24th official Bond film Thursday at England's Pinewood Studios.
Austrian actor Christoph Waltz will join Daniel Craig in the cast. Craig makes his fourth appearance as the rugged British secret service agent.

I’d vote “Thunderball” as the best Bond movie.
I grew up on the Roger Moore version of Bond, but between him and Timothy Dalton (I liked The Living Daylights), Bond was getting too cheesy with special effects.
I enjoyed Pierce Brosnan's version quite a bit.
I had never read the books until about two years ago.
Bond is a dark, gritty person. In the books, when I read scenes with him interacting with quick wit, or with the women, Sean Connery is who I picture, but when it's violence to get the job done, I picture Craig. Craig's dark and violent Bond actually fits the books better than just about any other Bond, save the original, and even then, Connery wasn't cold and brutal enough, even though for everything else, he fit perfectly.

You’re a stronger person than I. I’ve weaned myself down to Redbox offerings and the occasional old flick on Turner Classic Movies. I do avoid public theaters like the plague.
Craig most personifies the true character in the books. Just to give you a measure of my judgment, “To Russia with Love” IMO is the best. I think all the Pierce Bronson movies sucked. Even the bad guys sucked.
Brosnan had “the look” of James Bond, as did Roger Moore.
Daniel Craig’s portrayal of Bond is more in line with Ian Fleming’s view of him not as a hero but as an agent that bleeds.

It never ceases to amaze me how the media buys into the “official” film count issued by the Broccoli family. They don’t count Never Say Never Again with Connery or the farce Casino Royale. This will be the 26th Bond film no matter what the family says.
They make too much money to quit and they have the formula down.
Skyfall was better watching it a second time...
I like Craig’s portrayal. He fittingly ruthless and does a lot of the physical stuff himself. I like that they started all over with his first case and are building his experience. I think he’s got one more movie after the and then may begone.
I wanted Clive Owen, but his time may be passing.
I don’t care if a black guy gets the role. I liked the one who played M’s number 2 for awhile.

Raph Fiennes is coming back as M. They have always had a good actor in that role.
Physically maybe, but they were not tough, gritty, and uncaring enough to the point of almost being a sociopath.
Again, we are talking about a paid killer. That is what I like about Craig.
He works a lot in England and no big blockbusters outside of Bond. I recommend you watch Layer Cake if you can find it.
Roger Moore was horrible.
He became a farce or caricature. He was involved in one of the greatest opening scenes in movie history...
