We felt nothing in the valley. I have to wonder what happened to all of the hoodoos, both natural and man-made along the trails.

These are fun to stumble across when hiking. Who can resist adding to the collection?

Probably brought on by the Sedona Vortex (http://www.sedona.net/sedona-vortex) since there’s no drilling/fracking in the area. Gaia is very upset...

There you have the Humboldt Fault line. I think that it pretty large, isn’t it?

I don’t think there are major fault lines in Arizona.

Large, yes, but it was dead for a century, then suddenly woke up.

These get buried in 2-3 meters of volcanic ash, suddenly, then 3 million years from now, geologists will have NO explanation :)

Sedona. Like southern Utah, only much smaller and vastly more expensive. I was hoping this meant the new age yuckies who live there had all been sucked up by an alien spacecraft, like bacteria sucked from a wound on Mother Gaia.

Oh well. I can always hope...

Shook Mrs. BCC and me awake! Sharp jolt here in Flagstaff. Our son was in the car at a traffic light when it struck, and the driver in front of him got out of his car, angry, and sure his car had been struck from behind.

No shimmying here in Oro Valley. We did feel the one Easter afternoon a few years back.

We’re escapees from Southern CA. I tried to get my husband to tie-up the hot water heater, which is a standard practice in earthquake country, but he said there were no earthquakes in the Tucson area. I’d point to the huge boulders at the bottom of Sabino Cyn and remind him, earthquakes in Mexico affect us here, though.

Some fracking company started digging a hole one thousand miles away. That caused the quake. (snicker)

Century? That’s like a few seconds ago geologically... :-)

Remember - Engineers = .00001 +-
Geologists = Give or take a million years

LOL

That’s in the heart of wine country. Guess someone asked that their drink be “shaken, not stirred” and God heard them.

OTOH - in 3 million years, we may end up with a more "advanced form of crazy"...
