Stamps? Do they still make those?

I can’t remember the last time I put a stamp on an envelope. I think it was a ‘forever’ stamp from 2 increases ago.

Most of my bills are email/online and nearly all of my payments are, as well. For some payments where a paper check is actually written, I let the bank mail the check.

For most payments, I get an immediate email/website confirmation. That is better than posting things through the mail. My postal service has a long history of losing mail containing bills and payments.

The good thing about US mail is they get rid of the junk I put in the envelope. Let me explain.

My wife sent a card to her nephew with a 20 dollar bill. The nephew got the card, taped shut, and the 20 dollar was missing.

I sent my Dad a card with a souvenir key chain. Worth about 5 dollars. I put five stamps on it so it would cover the weight. Thankfully he got the card with the envelope taped shut and missing the key chain.

So the US post office seems to be getting really good at deciding what should be in our envelops.
