What’s with black Friday in the UK?? They don’t have Thanksgiving there. Thus there is no day after Thanksgiving to kick off the Christmas shopping season. I guess I’m missing something.

Ah, peace on Earth, good will toward men. I wonder if there were Christmas - excuse me, "Holiday" - wait, that's too religious, "Winter Season" carols going in the background? The ones about a manger, a cold winter night, and cutting your neighbor's guts out over a cheap TV?

Well, if there aren't any of those there ought to be.

And there’s the lie exposed that it’s called Black Friday because yada-yada...

How can they have a day after Thanksgiving, when they don’t have Thanksgiving?

Like the proverbial boiling frog, all these countries are just completely Americanized. Look at their clothing, look at the store, no wonder they’re adopting quasi-holidays that are an excuse for a retail sales blitz, too. What’s next, Cinco de Mayo in England? It wouldn’t be any less odd or ridiculous.

And yet, all these utterly Americanized countries retain a virulent anti-Americanism. What a strange affectation that is, imitate but excoriate.

Except for the cheerleaders...
