There truly have been no other transmissions?

Why would there be? First you need an index case, then you need contact with viral-loaded excretions, and evidently coughs and sneezes aren't an effective transmission mechanism. Works best with a corpse, but few of us in this country handle those on a frequent basis.

...and still no ban on travelers entering the US from those countries.

We will see a resurgence of cases here after all the holiday visiting back and forth to and from West Africa.

“Just seems too quiet to satisfy my curiosity.”

My thoughts exactly.

Do you know this for fact? Genuinely asking, no sarcasm implied whatsoever. And I am splitting hairs but this is my rebuttal:

I don’t have a scientific background, but logically thinking based off the misinformation and conflicting news regarding its transmission as reported by the media, the nurse that flew to Ohio plagues me. She was out and about on a wedding planning mission. She & her bridesmaids were trying on dresses and I’d imagine, undergarments of sorts, dining out, and who knows whatever else. My point is that while the virus is transmittable only while displaying symptoms, at what point did she realize she was in fact symptomatic? Meaning, when you become ill with say the flu, it hits you like a brick wall. But, until it knocks you silly, you may think you only have the sniffles. Also, I understood this strain of Ebola to be the 5th mutation of the strain. Is it possible the typical manner of spreading it also may evolve as the strain itself does?
Is that overthinking it or is it a reasonable theory?
