I watched the video.
In my opinion the kid wasn’t posing an immediate danger to anyone (even if it was a real gun) that justified pulling right up to him and ahooting.
They should have held back to at least observe and take in some facts and understand the situation a bit.
They pulled up so fast and shot that I can’t even imagine the kid had time to obey or disobey orders before they decided to shoot.
You can’t just rush to a potentially armed person and gun them down like that.
It’s really a horrific display of awful judgement by the officers here.
If they felt threatened then it’s only because they pulled right up to the danger and gave the kid about half a second to comply or die.

I agree.

There must be more to the story

Exactly.

I simply can't believe people are defending this shooting. This kid had less than one second to comply with an order that could not possibly have been given three times. The statement by the police was that the kid was ordered three times to put his hands up. Watch the video again. The officer would have had to be shouting out the window before the squad car even pulled up to repeat that three times. The cop shoots this kid less than one second after exiting the vehicle.

The kid had a mere fraction of a second to comply, not even enough time to react really. He may well have just seen the cops and was trying to take the plastic gun out of his pants to drop it. We will never know because the cop shot him before it was ever pulled out.

This is inexcusable, and all involved need to be held accountable.
