Way too early to claim that. Manziel is doing what top rookie QB's USED to do before we started expecting hall of fame numbers in their rookie year.Good points all around. I think the Aaron Rodgers scenario that you alluded to is the best example of what stated.
What about RG3? In your opinion, would it have better if he had a few years to get familiar with the systems?

Yes. I believe so. RG3 was so unique and they gave up so much to get him that I can understand the pressure to throw him right out there. He did well too. But now he's got an uphill climb to salvage his career. So I suppose the move wasn't in his or the team's long-term best interest.
I'm all for sitting a young QB his first year whenever you can. At least if you're not looking at an abysmal season anyway and you want him to get game reps. Otherwise, sitting him is the old-school way to do it.
