And the police just stand there and look at them. Nice orders.

RE: the police just standing there. I heard an astounding thing on the radio (probably Rush) this morning. The official orders to the officers was to treat this event like it was a “festival”. Yep. A Festival. Unreal. Political Correctness at it’s most stupid, destructive and deadly.

...and that’s all they’re ever going to do, unless their personal safety is involved...

...protected classes, and all that sort of thing...

In his speech last night, the community organizer all but told them to stand down.

That's appears to be the decision of the “unified” command. Seems like the decision was made to let Ferguson burn as long as the rest of the County was spared.

Just a note that the people in charge are not the Mayor of Ferguson, nor the police chief of Ferguson. Their authority was replaced by the county and the state.

In 1877, the City of St. Louis and the County of St. Louis split into separate political entities. The County property within the City limits was transferred to the City.

St. Louis City and St. Louis County are essentially two separate adjacent cities in adjacent counties. The County Executive (serves same purpose as a Mayor) stated in his early AM press conference that he said to “just let them go guys - treat it like a sporting event" or words to that effect.

The 62 arrests that were made came from St. Louis city, St. Louis County, Chicago, Illinois. Exactly how many were from Ferguson has yet to be reported. As Rudy Gulliani said, these are criminal arsonists - he and the media know very well who these groups are.

Having alerted the National Guard, and knowing the announcement was going to be made after dark, a curfew should have been in place, and the guard in place, if the Governor and Commissioner wanted to protect this area.

Even today in Nixon's press conference he stated that the answer was not to shut down the city of Ferguson. He waited for hours while fires burned before sending in additional National Guard. The commissioner sent an equally stupid message today about hoping for calm and peaceful protest.

Meanwhile East St. Louis has imposed a curfew even though there have been no reports of violence.

One of the stupidest things that was said today, was some black chick saying we didn't have any riots in St. Louis during the 60s so this is our civil rights war/riot.

I am beyond frustrated with the stupidity of the Governor, County Executive, Race Baiters, and LSM. The Governor and County Executive's plans were obviously inadequate. And their “hoping for a better night” is not a plan - spit.
