Michael Brown had THC, a behavior-altering substance found in marijuana, in his system when he was killed on August 9th by Ferguson, Missouri, police officer Darren Wilson, according to a toxicology report performed at a St. Louis University lab.
The toxicology screen, which was done on Aug. 10th, found “12 nanograms/ML of Delta-9-THC”, the primary psychoactive ingredient in pot, in Brown’s bloodstream at the time of his death.
This amount of Delta-9-THC in Brown's blood was more than twice the amount that in Washington State--where marijuana is legal--would allow someone to be arrested for driving under the influence.
“Delta-9-THC detection in the blood defines impairment,” according to the report.
THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol) “seriously impairs judgment and motor coordination,” according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

If I remember my long-ago college studies, Delta-9 THC is much more psychotropic than Delta-8, the form of THC that was in the 60s marijuana, so this isn’t just plain ol’ weed.
Just curious, does WA have a roadside THC level test they administer like a ‘breathalyzer’?
No surprise. He was on the high when he entered the store and robbed the guy. He was on a high while walking down the middle of the road. And he was on a high when he charged the cop.
If I gave a drug test to either his mother or father....I doubt if either would pass. All this brings me to my topic of the day....that we have five million of these guys doped up each day on something, and somehow, the vast majority make it through the day....surviving until tomorrow. In this case, the kid was just one of the twenty-odd folks each day who do something and don’t make it.
Math: (Grow up a punk + get stoned) * (commit a strong arm robbery + go after a police offer) = Dead.
Off topic but anyone else taken aback by the news coverage, by how shocked these news people appear to be about the grand jury ruling? And acting as if this violence is an expected response to the alleged,injustice???
I was wondering the same thing.
A little searching shows 5mg/mL THC produces observable objective impairment, the amount Colorado is considering the legal maximum for DUI.
So MB was over twice the “legal limit” - and that was what was measured at the autopsy, considerably after the incident. (Dunno how much degradation occurs after metabolic cessation, but I’d assume some.)

All that matters are feelings.
I know of no roadside instant THC level test so I don’t know how they could treat pot like alcohol.
I dunno...it seems they have to take blood. I’m genuinely unsure of what the status is on drawing blood vs probable cause, etc...but it seems at very least they have to take you to the police station.
It probably just would have added to the Gentle Giant's luster and mob-appeal.
"Torch one for the Tripper" would have been the battle cry for the ensuing riot if it was known that Brown was higher than a kite.

Read the grand jury testimonies, and you’ll find where the grand jurors are asking a detective about their investigation into whether or not evidence was found regarding Dorian Johnson and Michael Brown using ‘wax” to enhance the effect of the THC in the marijuana.
Over the last 40 -50 years, pot has been selectively bred and hybridized to produce a much more potent and psychotropic high.
The pot people are smoking these days is a much more powerful and psychotropic drug than the pot from the 60s and 70s that the baby boomers smoked .
Wait a minute. I thought pot was supposed to mellow you out and not encourage you to be violent so the druggies say.
Maybe Brown got angry for the cop driving up to him and his buddy and telling them to get out of the middle of the street which harshed his mellow. That’s a big no-no.
