Not quite that spectacular but Max McGee made an incredible catch in the first Super Bowl. Bart Starr rarely threw a poor pass but he threw one behind Max and he reached back with one hand and hauled it in.

McGee who was a bench warmer until Boyd Dowler was injured in the first quarter, knew it was probably his last game as he was pretty old but he caught the first TD pass in Super Bowl history.

The story goes Max was out all night in LA with wine women and song and was hangin’ pretty hard at game time. He didn’t expect to play but got in and had that catch and a real good game.
