Texas has no party registration. Every 2 years one has the right to pick whichever party primary in which to vote. There are just a few important things to remember. If one is a candidate in one party, then it is forbidden to vote in another primary. In order to go to the state party convention, it is necessary to vote in that party’s primary. If one votes in one party’s primary, then it is prohibited to vote in another party’s runoff.

Same here in Michigan. Its also important to think about who gets to set the district boundaries.
