by law (which seems to be irrelevant now) anyone born in 1929 or later needs 10 years of work (40 credits) to be eligible for retirement benefits.

10 years?? Most of us have already or will be contributing for 40+ years! NOT RIGHT!!

Not if they can qualify for social security disability.

There are many instances where legal immigrants where granted SSD because they could not speak English.

Yes, but I believe giving their children “crazy checks” (SSD) comes immediately. Also benefits for elderly (retirement aged) parents. EITC payment is also something that happens immediately. So the majority of them will be a huge net drain on the system.
