I don’t think a person can legitimately work in the US without a SSN. So this makes sense.
The question is whether enough of the 5,000,000 will have jobs that allow them to pay enough taxes to offset those in the 5,000,000 who will draw benefits. Haven’t seen firm numbers in that yet, but I’d guess not.
You can work if you get a taxpayer ID number which is different from a SSN.
Seems like this would be yet another way that Congress’s control of the purse strings could thwart Barry—if they were so inclined.
