Aren’t taxes supposed to originate in the House? I’m so confused these days.

....Umm
I thought all legislation regarding taxes is to originate in the House.....
(not that it matters to Justice Roberts....)

And that tax would reduce carbon emissions by making too expensive to drive?

Can someone explain which items require 60 votes in the senate and some a majority?

I had to check to see if this story was from a satire site.

Right now we are subsidizing big polluters to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars annually by allowing them to pollute for free,
If it’s CO2, it’s not polution.

More illegal destruction by the communists Democrats with all the power to run America with the Senate and King Obama. Will never be reversed because so much damage is done that cannot be reversed.

Democrats argue it would raise $2 trillion, which could be used for things like paying down the national debt Sounds like Gruber is still on the payroll.

That’s the usual ‘Lucy holding the football for Charlie Brown’ trick that sucks in some budget hawks and garner their support.

This is a crock of crap. It’s all lies, used to throttle American capitalism by over-taxation and excessive regulation in the name of environmentalism. Meanwhile, global polluters like Mexico, China, India and Russia crank out pollution on an ever-increasing basis. The leftist government ignores this and focuses on what will harm American business most. It’s all about killing American capitalism for the marxist freaks in out government. And those freaks will run away with lined pockets, which is what they wanted from the beginning. It’s what we got for not paying attention...

Democrats argue it would raise $2 trillion,
...Which would remove $2T from the economy. Great idea!
To: Rusty0604
C’mon, the democrats have stated that this 2 TRILLION carbon tax will be used to pay down the national debt.
And i believe them.

California will be an excellent test case for this concept as their (already in effect) state cap & tax continues to take effect in stages.
I’ve read that the gasoline price will jump significantly.
