SEATTLE'S MINIMUM WAGE CRASH: $15 to ZERO! Profit's Take A Nosedive!

Seattle, Washington, one of the strongest remaining bastions of liberal philosophy left in the country, passed a phased-in $15 minimum wage law earlier this year. The highest minimum wage in the country. The vote was unanimous and the throng outside cheered, but for many this is a loss from which they will never recover. It is a blow to the profitability of business that they just can't take.

These Seattle hypocrite socialist leftists don’t shop around for the best price? Will they buy a $20 pizza just because the minimum wage is a ‘righteous’ $15? Their money meeting their mouths has a big schism between.

They’ll just repackage their argument and say it’s the other guy’s fault.

Or "This isn't The One we were waiting for..."

I'm not seeing any evidence that they can learn anything from experience.

Business failures will only serve to validate Sawant and the other socialists' core principle - that businesses only survive by "exploiting" workers, which to them means paying less than the socialists would like. They'll expect the businesses to reopen as workers' collectives. So did Lenin in the beginning until the entire Russian economy went into the crapper. By 1921 the call was for a New Economic Policy, or "state capitalism". We've been down this road before.

What is the legal basis of a city controlling the wage contract between employees and employers?

Fire all marginal employees and limit new hires to proven workers. Raise prices to cover increased expenses. That’ll solve it!

The Liberals NEVER learn! They are an unthinking plague of Locusts that devastate one area before moving on to the next.

You just KNOW their "solution" for the loss of jobs in Seattle would be to expand their losing strategy so that job creators have no way to escape by moving out of the city.

You know how the libs will answer that? They’ll say,” raise minimum wage everywhere so businesses can’t leave”.

Can we hope, if only a little, that this might cause very blue Seattle to vote differently in 2016? I know, no way.

“The Pagliacci Pizza chain that does a lot of delivery is moving it’s call center out of the city. “

I have a great solution for ALL-:

build a WALL around the city- and do not let anyone move!
THEY must serve the council- or they are traitors-

(so don’t forget the barbed wire, dogs and armed snipers)

We all know the $15 minimum wage is a disaster in the making, but libturds don't learn. In fact, there's this from 16 hours ago (sounds to me like they're fairly proud of their socialist conquests):

Seattle Is Doing What No Other City in America Has Done

Highlights include:

The City Council has doubled down on its trend-setting $15 wage by accelerating its implementation for city workers, ensuring the wage will be raised in 2015 rather than being phased in over the course of the next three years.

So I guess this would preclude any type of lessons being learned by the libturds?

I don’t support the new law, but it hasn’t even gone into effect yet, and the $15-an-hour rate doesn’t kick in for about five years, and the mandatory wage varies depending on the size of the business and the age of the employee. It’s way too soon to evaluate the effect of the law, despite the handful of businesses that are taking proactive action. One unintended consequence may be that businesses hire only young people who aren’t subject to the full brunt of the law, then let them go when they turn 21.

When Sawant refers to “No unintended consequences”, that is Socialist speak meaning”

“The owner must accept a smaller profit and income margins and distribute their unjust wage to the workers.”
