If you keep it in glovebox and get pulled over, getting your registration out becomes a whole new ballgame

Keep in the door pockets (I always make an extra copy for the other side door, and one for the house) or one of those little pouches that affix to the visor, with a cc: in the door slot.

No need to open the glovebox unless at your choice

Good reason to keep that paperwork in a pouch on the visor. No "furtive" movements and your hands stay visible.

A clip under the dash is handy. I would never reach for the glovebox for my “papers” because just making that move is excuse for a cop to notch his handle. I would tell the officer that my paper is in the glovebox and let him go from there. Once I told the officer that he had that already when he looked on his screen before he put his light on because he had already run my tag number. They have sensors that do that automatically when they get behind you. The cop said, well yes, and didn’t make me get the papers out.

Good point but why keep your registration in the glove box to begin with? Should your car happened to be stolen the paperwork comes with it.I keep my stuff in my wallet.
