Fish, shrimp and seafood tacos is what Americans eat at Cabo

Maybe. I think mine was cat. It was really good, too.

I respect your daughter for being so adventurous Anthony Bourdain style in Vietnam. Though unlike her, Anthony has many staff to steer him clear of the pestilence traps.

The Halal carts by Radio City always have a line down the block. It’s really good food, but this article surprises me about 0%.

Cat- It’s what’s for dinner.
Cat- The other, other white meat.
Cat- hey, at least it’s not Guinea pig.

This message brought to you by the National Cat Cuisine Council and the ASPCA.

She is very bright and somewhat over the top in street smarts. That is very reassuring to me as a parent, but her abilities can be a little intimidating at times. Although now that she is 30 I have pretty much adjusted to it.

She and I have done a little traveling together in the states, I learned to always let her run the whole show.

Google images quickly exposes a clash of cultures. Go there and search on vietnamese dog.

If you have a strong constitution, anyway...

Critics say the vendors operate under a lack of oversight.

Ah, yes. Bureaucrats. Expanded government. Higher taxes. That'll fix it.

LOL.

When our daughter lived in Korea for a year I asked her if she would eat dog. She said as long as she didn’t know the dog before hand.

But, contrary to popular belief, dog meat is not for those on a budget, it is only in the more (most?) expensive restaurants. She never had it.

Although she did have Dalk-ddong-jib: This translates literally to “Chicken’s House of Poo” which, in essence, is chicken anus. She had it breaded and fried (came as a side with a pizza) like onion rings.

There are probably 100,000 open air food carts operating in the tropical climate of Bangkok. Fresh ingredients in open containers. Not a problem. And Thai food...yum.

What about restaurants, that are supposedly "well" regulated?

Sounds like typical BS from a restaurateur who doesn't like the competition.

Of course, if you're an illegal alien selling tacos or elotes from a cart with no business license, no liability insurance, no sales or income taxes, no workman's comp, no sanitation certificate, etc., you will be left completely alone.

Only American serfs will subject to oversight by their lords and masters in the governing class.

Dear Pizza Hut: I know you have been looking to make some changes to your menu. Please do not put fried chicken butts on your menu. ChildOfThe60s was merely reporting, not recommending. Thank-you. blueunicorn6

Mexicans do the same here without apparent problems (at least in Chicago).

They also operate here with no regulation: no business license, no sanitation certificate, etc., because illegals are a "protected" class.

actually - as a former caterer - the laws for food safety are quite stringent. What lacks is NYC's ability to enforce - out here in the western hinterlands (Roch) - County enforcement is quite strict and rightly so - bad food can kill - its no joke.

The dept here manned by some really pleasant people, provided you obey the guidelines...we got to know each other on a regular basis and welcomed the visits with pride.

What amazes me though - is the State allows Churches, fraternal organizations, police and fire to prepare food and sell food to the public WITHOUT having a Level 1 food handler (Certification good in all 50 States) present or involved with the prep/serving or storage ....lesson learned - Don't eat pot lucks, or fundraiser foods

Along about August this summer, I saw a unrefrigerated box truck with the door up in front of our local Mexican restaurant. There was a puddle of goop about a foot in diameter forming off the back where meat juices were dripping out of the truck. I sat and watched them take “fresh” meat off the truck and into the restaurant. I could readily see chickens and hunks of beef in the same open cardboard boxes being carried into the restaurant through the front door where diners enter, dripping goop all the way. A few weeks later, I saw a picture of the same truck in a tweet from a local paper. State Police had stopped the truck when meat goop was splattering the patrol car on the interstate. Every restaurant on there delivery route was shut down, all Mexican places. Some were closed permanently because get this - they had sleeping quarters in the kitchens.

There are definitely some bad operators out there.

A&W in Aztec NM, back in 1973. Puked my guts out all the way back to Pagosa Springs. I believe it was the onion rings.

“When was the last time you got sick from a food cart....anywhere?”

I don’t consider it getting sick. I call it a colon cleanse.
